Obituary for Haley Ann Jones
Haley Ann Jones, 33, of Amarillo was born in Pampa, Tx. on November 15th, 1985; her hometown was Wheeler. She went to sleep and joyfully woke up in Heaven on August 9th, 2019.

Her parents, Larry and Christie, and younger sisters-Katie and Paisley are blessed beyond measure to have lived life abundantly with Haley. Granny and PawPaw Jones (Ann and Robert) were two of Haley’s favorite people. She was their first grandchild. On difficult days, Granny’s homemade chicken and dumplings and banana pudding, made from scratch, comforted Haley. PawPaw would sit her in his lap feeding her till her tiny round belly pooched out. It quickly became a tradition on her birthday to celebrate with… Haley knew good food.

Haley Ann Jones was no ordinary person. She showed us all that normal does not exist and that every person is extraordinary and unique. Haley was born with many parts of her brain missing, she overcame obstacle after obstacle and learned to walk and talk a simple language. She had no problem getting her point across to others. We knew when she loved us deeply and we all knew when she had a strong opinion about someone or something. She lived transparently. Her laughter and quirky smile will be greatly missed. Hearing her say “Mama” in a way that only she could, was a constant reminder to everyone that heard her repeat it daily; that she was brought into this world through love. She was loved unconditionally and that “Mama” fought for her daily, assuring the care she received and for her protection. Haley loved dancing with her Daddy. He would pick her 90-pound body up and snuggle her close as they swayed, twirled and dipped; sometimes with music but mainly to only the sound of her laughter.

When she closed her eyes Thursday night, she knew deep in her knower that she was loved and highly treasured on this Earth. We can only imagine what she felt when she woke up fully restored to how God intended her to be, able to run and dance unassisted and rejoice with words and singing in Heaven. Jesus was there to greet her along with her Grandmother Judy and Aunt Jennifer, Great Uncle David and many others from her mother’s side of the family. Granny Goodwin and Aunt Christine along with a brood of Joneses from her Daddy’s side were there too. Heaven rejoiced when she entered.

Haley left behind her parents Larry and Christie, sisters Katie and Paisley, Grandparents Robert and Ann, Uncles and Aunts Bobby/Tammy, Ronny/Sherri, David/Stefanie/ Doug/Julie, Seth/Shelley. Cousins that grew up knowing this special love were: Jordan (her favorite, there was NO doubt), Alisha, Tracy, Paige, Jennifer, Maggie, Shelby, Cassie, Ashleigh, Colton, Kiley, Chris, Whitney, Megan, Aiden and Jase. There were many more family members that married into her life that she adored as well.

Haley did attend school in Wheeler, Lubbock, and Amarillo. Each school system had caring, well educated staff. Her favorite teachers and staff were from the Wheeler school system. She attended school in Wheeler until she was 15 years old. Special lifetime bonds were created. Her family would like them all to know they made a huge difference in her life, and much gratitude is felt towards each and every one of them

Haley was cared for in the home for many years. When the time came for her to receive around the clock specialized care because of her health issues there were countless caregivers and special staff members, that went above and beyond to help her with the little things and to overcome major obstacles. The family is grateful for these selfless warriors. Haley spent the last couple of years in the care of Advo Companies in Amarillo. Donations can be made in her name to help them carry on their excellent care for individuals with special needs in Amarillo and surrounding areas.
