*Obituary
Mrs. Mary Frances Jones, 88, of Childress, grandmother of Arnold and Owen Jones of Wheeler, died at 1:50 p.m. last Friday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.W. Darter, 811 Seventh St., NW, Childress, after being seriously ill for about five weeks.
Mrs. Jones has been a resident of Childress for about seven years. She was born April 26, 1865 in Williams County, Texas. Her husband preceded her in death in 1935.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church here with Rev. Luther R. Bradley, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church of Childress officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of the Newberry Funeral Home of Childress.
Pall bearers were grandsons and granddaughters composed the flower committee.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. C.W. Darter of Childress, Mrs. Montie Coward of Gatesville, Mrs. Sadie Reeves of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Myrtle Wilson of Oklahoma City; five sons, C.L. Jones of Childress, G.A. Jones of Tulia, Homer Jones of Gatesville, Sam Jones of Amarillo, and Eddie Jones of Corpus Christi; 48 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
