James Hall Is Buried In Wheeler

James L. Hall, 53, of Allison died Friday.

The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Sullivan, pastor, and Rev. Jerry Ralston officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

He was a truck driver and farmer. Born in Tennessee, he came to Allison in 1937. He was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include the widow, Nona; four sons, Lester, Lee and Gary, all of Allison, and Terry with the U.S. Marine Corps in Cuba; a brother, Vernon of Allison; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Wallace of Sayre, Okla., Mrs. Evelyn Dukes of Allison, and Mrs. Lavelle McMillin of Tulsa, and 12 grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Zeland Rainey, D.V. Craig, Leon Hays, Glen Elmore, Bob Horn, and Verlin Hagerman.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Markham, Lloyd Jones, George Crow, and Clyde Vinson.

ALLISON - Nona Hall Jones, 86, died Friday, July 3, 2009, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with Gary Hall, her son, and the Rev. Bill Stiles officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Mrs. Nona Jones was born May 6, 1923, in Mountainburg, Ark., to Lester and Lula Risner Dyer. Nona attended Allison and Cataline schools. She married James Lester Hall in 1940 in Reydon, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1975. She later married Lloyd L. Jones on May 24, 1982, in Allison, and he passed on April 18, 1996. Nona was a beautician and ran her own beauty shop in Allison for 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Allison.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, a granddaughter and a stepgrandson.

Survivors include four sons, Lester Hall and wife Clydene of Allison, Lee Hall and wife Sharon of Amarillo, Gary Hall and wife Linda of Pampa and Terry Hall and wife Nora of Austin; two stepsons, Harold Jones of Amarillo and Troy Jones and wife Lona of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Armanda Jones of Tulia and Kay Donaldson and husband Bill of Allison; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
