Larry Roger Kemp, 77, of Borger, Texas passed away December 16, 2020. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at Wheeler Cemetery for family and close friends.

Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, at Cornerstone Church. The service will be officiated by Shea Summach, pastor of Cornerstone Church Borger. Arrangements are under the direction of Burgin Funeral Home.

Larry was born in Hartford, Arkansas on May 12, 1943 to James and Nellie Kemp. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jimmy, Glen and Karron, and his sister Mary Louise.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children, Larry Scott Kemp and wife Shaila of Pratt, Kansas, Crystal Gray and husband Billy of El Reno, Oklahoma and Jamie Neumann and husband Dale of Borger; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild; his sisters Janice Denette, Darlene Duncan and husband Jimmy, and Laraine Brons and husband David; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

How do you put a lifetime of love into one page? For starters, Larry was a man of great faith. He loved the Lord his God with all his heart, his soul, and his mind. He loved people with an effortless ease that made even strangers feel welcome and special.

He loved to pray, and he could call down Heaven like no other. He prayed for his family and friends and spoke God’s Word over them daily. His prayers will forever be reverberating over the people he loved.

Larry was a master at just about everything he did. He could fix anything, build anything, and create anything. He loved to work with his hands. He was a perfectionist and the things he created and fixed will last a lifetime and be plumb, square and level for eternity.

He loved his country and was proud to be an American. He served in the Army and was a patriot all the days of his life. He was passionate about history and could talk for hours with his friends and family about this great country we live in.

He was a lover of the truth, and he lived his life in such a way that made others want to be the same. Larry was a giver, and a faithful doer of the Word of God. Many people were touched by his love and generosity, his selflessness, and his humble servanthood. He will be missed greatly, and he will be forever remembered and alive in our hearts.
