Harold S. Kenady, 75, died Sunday, April 3, 1988.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Kenady, born at Cottonwood, moved to Aspermont as a child. He was married to Eloise Wilson in 1937 at Jayton. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He served as county clerk of Stonewall County from 1946 to 53. He moved to Wheeler in 1953 and owned and operated Wheeler Abstract Co. until retirement in 1973. He was a member of the board of First Methodist Church, and also served as church treasurer for several years. He was a member of Wheeler school board for 15 years and a member of American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Harold Arden Kenady of Amarillo; a daughter, Sidney Ann Thomason of Irving; a brother, Dallas Kenady of Jayton; three sisters, Elizabeth Teaver and Margaret Brandenburg, both of Plainview, and Evelyn Maples of Taft; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Earl Barnes, Thomas Helton, Lyndon Loyd, Brady Meadows, Thurman Rives, Bill Robertson.
Honorary Pallbearers B.K. Barham, Tom Britt, Thomas Daughtry, Percy Farmer, Leon Fillingim, Dub Goad, Grainger McIlhany, Harold Nash, Bill Owen, Nick Steadman, Joe Rogers and Hiram Whitener.
