Merl Lamb Rites Are Read Friday
Annie Merl Lamb, 66, passed away at her home Wednesday, March 25, 1970. Illness was a sudden heart attack.
Mrs. Lamb was born March 20, 1904 in Henderson, Texas. Her father's name was George C. Willard and her mother was the former Lou Jane Jones. She was married to George W. Lamb in 1932 at Wheeler.
Mrs. Lamb had lived in Wheeler Co. since 1928. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors were 1 son, Pete Burton of Wheeler, 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Alta Lou Richards of Lancaster, Calif., Mrs. Virgie McCasland of Monaga, Calif., 2 step-sons, Leo Lamb of Wheeler, T.H. Lamb of Downey, Calif., 3 sisters, Mrs. Alma Lee Smith of Stockton, Calif., Mrs. Clara Naves of Oklahoma City, Miss Lula Willard of Wheeler, 5 brothers, K.V. Willard of Wheeler, Barney Willard of Paris, Texas, J.E. Willard of Wheeler, Dock Willard of Ft. Worth, Ernest Willard of Henderson, Texas, 2 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962.
Funeral services were in the First Baptist Church in Wheeler, Friday, March 27, 1970, at 10:30 A.M. Officiating minister was Rev. M.B. Smith of Pampa and Rev. Wilbur Goede of Wheeler assisted. Burial services were in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Home.
Pall bearers were Ralph Smotherman, N.L. Secrist, W.D. Mitchell, Harvey Davis, L.A. Parks, Ferrell Wallace, Bud Vanpool and John C. Vise.
