WHEELER — Annie Ruth Lee, 101, of Wheeler died Tuesday, May 22, 2012.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in United Methodist Church in Wheeler with the Rev. Matthew Gary officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery. Arrangements are by Peppers Family Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Annie Ruth was born Jan. 6, 1911, in Vernon to Solon Everett Cole and Frances Amalie Masengale Cole. She was the 11th child of 12. She attended school in Wheeler. Annie Ruth married Loyd Taylor Lee on July 10, 1932, in Sayre, Okla. They owned Lee Hardware and Furniture all of their married lives. Annie Ruth worked at the store until age 85 and received the Pioneer Award in 1999. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Wheeler and a member of Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She was Mother Advisor for Rainbow Girls and a member of Wheeler Chamber of Commerce.

She was preceded in death by her son, Harold Loyd Lee; a granddaughter, Joanie Lee Brogdon; a great-grandson, Briar Coate; six brothers; and five sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Pierce and husband Cecil and Marsha McDowell, all of Wheeler; nine grandchildren, Myranda Pierce of Enid, Okla., Kristi Pierce of Lubbock, Brian Coate of Wheeler, Rodney Coate of Edmond, Okla., Lucretia Davis and husband Eddie and Michael Loyd Lee and wife Tina, all of Wheeler, Melannie Ann Gates and husband Roy of Weatherford, Okla., Harold Brent Lee of Killeen and Lori Lynn Barnes and husband Justin of Stephenville; 16 great-grandchildren, Bradan Pierce of Enid, Brady and Audrey Pierce, both of Lubbock, Britton Davis of Amarillo, Jeremy Davis of Oklahoma City, Josh Lee, Stephanie Sullivan and husband Matt, Dustin Lee and Justin Lee and wife Lacee, all of Wheeler, Colton, Logan, Cadan and Shyann Gates, all of Weatherford, and Blake, Tanner and Taylor Barnes, all of Stephenville; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to United Methodist Church, 704 Main St., Wheeler, TX 79096; or a favorite charity.
