Bill Mason, 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1995, in Amarillo.

Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Wheeler with the Rev. Billy Wilson, pastor, and Bill Morrison, minister of Wheeler Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery, directed by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Mason was born in Arkansas and attended school at Sweetwater, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Ruth Morris in 1939 at Sayre, Okla. They lived in Amarillo for 20 years, during which time he was employed by New Mexico Transportation. They moved to Oklahoma City, where he was employed by Trans Con Freight Lines. They moved to Wheeler in 1980. He was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1940 and by a son, Herby, in 1970.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dwight Mason of Amarillo and Randy Mason of Springtown; a daughter, Judy Groves of Amarillo; a brother, Si Mason of Irving; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Van Baize, Will Groves, Billy Joe McFall, Brandon Mason, Brian Mason, and Delbert Thomas.

The family suggests memorials to Wheeler Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 672, Wheeler, Texas 79096.

Delpha Ruth Mason
May 23, 1922 - October 11, 2014

Delpha Ruth Mason, originally of Wheeler passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014. Graveside services will be Monday, October 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Wheeler Cemetery with Sherman Eastland, chaplain of Gentiva Hospice officiating.

Ruth was born May 23, 1922 in Wheeler to Floyd and Trula (Cole) Morris. She married the love of her life William Herbert (Bill) Mason who preceded her in death in 1995. Ruth truly loved gardening, sewing, knitting and quilting. She was famous for her salmon patties and tea cakes.

Ruth was also preceded in death by a son Herby Wayne Mason and an infant daughter Billie Ruth Mason.

Ruth is survived by two sons Dwight and wife Nina Mason of Amarillo and Randy and Teena Mason of Springtown and a daughter Judy and Sebern Groves of Amarillo as well as six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
