Services were held Wed., Dec. 8, 1971 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Wheeler for Sallie Myrtle Mason, 87, with the Rev. Ross Dunn officiating.
Mrs. Mason passed away Sunday, Dec. 5 in the Shamrock Gen. Hospital after an illness of several months.
She was born March 14, 1884 and married to James Humphrey Mason, Aug. 4, 1901 at Heber Springs, Ark.
Mrs. Mason had lived in Wheeler Co. since 1938. She moved to Wheeler in 1959 when her husband retired. He preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Mason had been a resident of the Golden Spread Nursing Home in Shamrock for the past 1 1/2 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
She is survived by 3 sons, Gene Mason, Albuquerque, N.M., S.E. Mason, Tulsa, Okla and Bill Mason, McLean; 2 sisters, Mrs. R.M. Adcock, Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Bill Rice of Little Rock, Ark.; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery under direction of the Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.
