WHEELER - Olen L. Maxwell, 90, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wheeler Cemetery with Dr. Shawn Johnson, minister of Wheeler Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

Olen was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Wheeler County to Stephen Arthur and Clara Maxwell. Olen attended Wheeler schools. He married Mary Ann Topper on June 15, 1940, in Wheeler. Olen was an operator for Phillips Petroleum Co. in Phillips for 37 years. He retired in 1979, and they moved back to Wheeler in 1980. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a private 1st class during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; a sister, Inetta Hyatt of Amarillo; a brother, F.R. Maxwell of Borger; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Wheeler Cemetery or High Plains Children's Home, P.O. Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79114-7448.

WHEELER — Mary Ann Topper Maxwell, 94, of Wheeler died Friday, June 10, 2016, in Wheeler.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery with Brother Carroll Thomason officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are by Peppers Family Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Mary Ann was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Trenchere, Colo., to the late George Herman Topper and Nancy Ann Myers Topper-Warren. She was a member of Wheeler Church of Christ. She married Olen L. Maxwell on June 15, 1940. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2009. Mary Ann was very talented at sewing and painting. She loved her husband and her extended family very much.

Survivors include a sister, Wanda Topper Mitchell of Pampa and many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children’s Home, 11461 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79118; Wheeler Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 672 Wheeler, TX 79096; or Wheeler Church of Christ, 1001 Alan L. Bean Blvd., Wheeler, TX 79096.
