Harry married "Bert" Arnold on March 23, 1940. He owned a large acreage of land which had been in his family from the time it was issued through a grant by the Mexican government in 1820. The land was used for farming and ranching, and though it was located some 18 miles east of Crockett, they decided to move there in order to make the land more productive and secure. Harry and his son, Jim, have maintained the land heritage of his great-grandfather Daniel, having secured an offical Texas Historical Marker relating this history and continue a ranching operation on the land.
