Jake Peterman, 75-year-old resident of this area, passed away at the home of his brother, Chester Peterman, 5 miles west of Sweetwater, Okla. this morning (Thursday) at 6:30 o'clock. Mr. Peterman had been a resident of this community the greater portion of the time for the past 30 years.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Wheeler Baptist Church at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 22 with B.M. Litton, minister of the local Church of Christ officiating.
Mr. Peterman was born in Ohio on October 26, 1872 and passed away November 20, 1947, at the age of 75 years and 24 days. Mrs. Peterman preceded him in death in 1917.
Mr. Peterman is survived by: one son, Cpl. Ernest Peterman of Ft. Sill, Okla; one daughter, Mrs. S.A. Moore of Maryville, Tenn.; two brothers, C.E. Peterman of Sweetwater, Okla. and Ed Peterman of Muncie, Penn.; four sisters, Debra Kile of Benton, Penn., Nora Exlander of Scranton, Penn., Ella Smith of Allentown, Penn. and Lavia Golden of Waverly, N.Y.
Interment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery with arrangements in charge of Hunt Funeral Home.
