Graveside services for Mr. T.G. Reames, 78, of Wheeler, Texas, was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Wheeler Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Gary officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Peppers Family Funeral Home in Wheeler, Texas.
Mr. Reames passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011, in Amarillo, Texas.
T.G. Reames was born February 9, 1933, in Castle, Oklahoma, to the late Mr. Golden Reames and Mrs. Blanche (Raines) Reames. He attended school in Briscoe, Texas. While serving in the United States Army, T.G. received his GED. Mr. Reames graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He married Sylvia (Lancaster) Reames on March 12, 1960, at Edmond, klahoma. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1994. T.G. and Sylvia moved to Wheeler from California in 1977. Mr. Reames taught in the Texas school system for over 32 years. He had a love for plants and especially enjoyed a good political discussion. His pride and joy was his special friend, his dog, Pooper. Mr. Reames is preceded in death by one son, Lance Reames; one brother, Jerry Reames; and one sister, Hazel Farmer.
T.G. is survived by his son, Eric Reames of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Mickey Reames of Paris, Arkansas; one sister, Jan Craighead of Geary, Oklahoam; his grandsons, Chase Andrew Reames of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, and Dagen Wayne Reames of Amarillo, Texas; his girlfriend, Marsha McDowell of Wheeler, Texas; step-son, Jon Steffey of Allison, Texas; and step-daughter, Pamela Acker of Haslet, Texas.
