Donald Worth Reeves, 91, of Wheeler, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, in Wheeler, Texas.

Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Rev. Larry Mitchell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Wheeler Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.

Donald was born September 29, 1927 in Twitty, Texas to Anna Myrtle and Raymond Clinton Reeves. He married Mary Anita Laycock on April 20, 1948 in Twitty. He was a veteran serving in the US Army. He had worked for Natural Gas Pipeline for many years prior to his retirement and had been a member of the Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 26 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4 wheelers, and being in a bowling league with his wife. He also loved to play 42 and golf. He was an avid Wheeler Mustang fan. Donald was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wheeler. He enjoyed being with his family and especially his grandkids and great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 4 brothers, Roy Reeves, Amos Reeves, J.C. Reeves, and Kenneth Reeves.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Reeves of Wheeler; a daughter, Melinda Martindale and husband Kim of Wellington; 2 grandchildren, Casey Jones and husband Kevin and Dane Martindale; and 3 great grandchildren, Kierstin Jones, Kiera Jones, and Haylie Martindale.

The family asks that donations be made to the Wheeler Cemetery Association or the Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department.

The family will be at 1004 Red River in Wheeler.

Mary Anita Reeves, 91, of Wheeler died Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in Wheeler.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2020 in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Rev. Larry Mitchell, officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Due to the Coronavirus, we are only allowing 5 people to enter the funeral home at a time.

If attending the service, please be prepared to maintain social distancing practices.

Anita was born July 3, 1928 in Dozier to Carrel and Lucille Sechrist Laycock. She married Donald Worth Reeves on April 20, 1948 in Twitty. She grew up picking cotton and continued through her early adult life. She had worked at Parkview Hospital, Wheeler Irrigation, and Wheeler Florist prior to her retirement. She loved gardening and watching hummingbirds in their back yard. She also loved fishing, crocheting, crafts, riding four wheelers and the mule, but most of all, being with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wheeler where she helped with Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald on June 1, 2019; and two sisters, Glenda Crossman and Saundra Kay Eccles.

Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Martindale and husband Kim of Wellington; a brother, Clyde Laycock of Pampa; a sister, Carolyn Marchant of San Antonio; a sister in law, Thelma Reeves; two grandchildren, Casey Jones and husband Kevin of Borger, and Dane Martindale of Brownwood; three great grandchildren, Kierstin Jones, Kiera Jones, and Haylie Martindale; and several nieces and nephews.

The family request memorials be sent to Wheeler Nursing and Rehab or North Wheeler County EMS.
