ALLISON - Allen Monroe Reynolds, 76, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Meller, pastor, and Gary Hall, a son-in-law of Allison, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Mr. Reynolds was born in Morrilton, Ark. He served in the Army during World War II. In 1949, he and his wife to Allison from Pampa.

A farmer and rancher, Mr. Reynolds was recognized by the Wheeler Chamber of Commerce as Farmer/Rancher of the Year in 1967. He served on the board of trustees at the Allison Independent School District for six years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for 41 years.

He married Nadene Burress in 1943 at Mobeetie.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen Wayne Reynolds of Amarillo; three daughters, Linda Hall and Debra Boydston, both of Allison and Vickie Lay of Amarillo; two brothers, Denver Reynolds and Robert Reynolds, both of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. Fourth St., Canadian, TX 79014.

WHEELER - Nadene Reynolds, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Allison with Gary Hall and the Rev. Shelby Deathridge, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Nadene Elizabeth Reynolds was born Feb. 18, 1926, in Mobeetie to William Alvie Burress and Ura Stephenson Burress. She attended Totty School and lived in Mobeetie until she married Allen Monroe Reynolds on Dec. 8, 1943. After being discharged from the Army, they moved to Shamrock with their firstborn son. Allen worked at the Tower Service Station until they moved to Pampa, where they lived for eight months. In 1949, they moved to the Allison community, where their three daughters were born. They farmed until Allen retired in 1976. Allen passed away in 1999, and Nadene continued to live in Allison until 2003. She moved to Pampa and lived there for three years. She then moved to Amarillo, where she resided until her death.

Nadene was a member of Allison First Baptist Church, where she served the community and was the best iced-tea maker around.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Monroe Reynolds; her parents; six brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include a son, Wayne and wife Debbie of Amarillo; three daughters, Linda and husband Gary of Pampa, Vickie and husband William of Bushland and Debra and husband Bennie of Allison; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 203 N. Keyes St., Allison, TX 79003.
