WHEELER - Adrian R. Risner, 82, died Friday, May 5, 2006.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Toby Henson of Clyde and the Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Risner was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Mountainburg, Ark., to James Enoch Risner and Hettie Mae Dyer Risner. He moved to Wheeler in 1927. Mr. Risner attended school in Wheeler. After graduating, he attended Draughan's Business College in Oklahoma City for two years.
He married Dorothy Casey on June 13, 1954, in Wheeler. She preceded him in death in 1999. He worked for the First National Bank of Wheeler from 1952 until retiring in 1982.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wheeler, where he served as a deacon for 47 years, taught Sunday school and was a song leader. He also was a member of the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Risner was a veteran, serving in the Army.
Survivors include a daughter, Darla Childress and husband, Punk, of Tuttle, Okla.; a brother, Henry Risner of New Mexico; two grandchildren, Wade Childress of Fayetteville, Ark., and Kari McCluskey of Tuttle; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Adrain and Rachel Kathleen McCluskey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Wheeler.

WHEELER - Dorothy J. Risner, 71, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Toby Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Risner was born in Floydada, and had been a Wheeler resident since 1948. She worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee Office for 33 years, retiring in 1982. She then served as secretary of First Baptist Church in Wheeler for eight years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a youth Sunday school teacher for 40 years and was a member of the choir.
She married Adrian Risner in 1954 at Wheeler.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Darla Childress of Tuttle, Okla.; a sister, Frances Dixon of Matador; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Wheeler or the American Cancer Society.
