Charles R. Risner, 74, of Perryton, Texas died March 15, 2018 in Perryton. Services will be at 10:30 a. m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Perryton, officiated by Rocky Dunnam. Burial will be at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Texas at 2:00 p.m., and arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.

Mr. Risner was born on October 12, 1943 in Wheeler, Texas to William Frank Risner and Lois Irene Jones Risner. He graduated from Mobeetie High School and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Ochiltree County. He married his wife, Vicki, on May 21, 1966 in Wheeler, Texas.

Mr. Risner is survived by his wife, Vicki, of Perryton, Texas; one son, William Risner and wife Amber of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Meredith Van Voorhis and husband Brian of Keizer, Oregon; five grandsons, Joshua Risner of San Marcos, Texas, Johnathan Chandler of Amarillo, Texas, Tyler Van Voorhis of Corvallis, Oregon, Brendan Van Voorhis of Chicago, Illinois and Jon Charles Risner of Amarillo, Texas; four granddaughters, Briana Splawn and husband Cylor of Amarillo, Texas, Cleta Chandler of Amarillo, Texas, Samantha Van Voorhis of Keizer, Oregon and Berkley Risner of Amarillo, Texas; two great-grandsons, Isiah Carter Splawn and Xavian Donald, both of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Donna Cunningham of Amarillo, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Risner was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

The family requests memorials be to the Amarillo Firefighters Association, 613 SE 46th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79118; or to VA Dogs, 601 Spur 100 N., Kerrville, TX, 78028.
