*Obituary
S.W. Roark, 87, died Tuesday, April 24, 1979.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 1979 in First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ernie McGaughey, pastor, and Dr. Harry Roark, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Roark was born in Danbury, N.C. He and his wife, Dortha, were married in 1922 in Marlow, Okla. He came to McAlester, Okla., in 1935 and to Wheeler in 1975. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legions [sic].

He was a retired employee for the Federal Housing Administration and a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob of Wheeler; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Isom of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Booten of Ardmore, Okla., Joe of Louisiana six sisters, Mrs. Lelia Burroway of Roseburg, Ore, Mrs. Magdelene Cromer and Mrs. Thelma Meers of Moore, Okla., Mrs. Doris Martin of Ringling, Okla., and Mrs. Marcie Jones of Monhans [sic]; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
