Pioneer Kelton Man Passes Away Friday
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here Saturday afternoon for G.E. Robertson, 71, well-known Kelton man, who passed away on Friday, following an illness of two weeks.
A pioneer settler of Wheeler county, the deceased had made his home at Kelton for the past 30 years, coming to the Panhandle from Oklahoma. He was born Oct. 14, 1865, in Tennessee.
Robertson was a prominent farmer in the Kelton community and was well known over the county.
He is survived by his wife, who lives at Kelton, one brother, Wiley Robertson, and two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Smith and Mrs. Sarah Stevens, all of Manchester, Tenn. One nephew, J.D. Rutherford, lives at Wheeler.
Rev. Bright of Shamrock was in charge of the last rites, assisted by Rev. J. Edmund Kirby and Rev. A.C. Wood, both of Wheeler. Interment was made in the Wheeler cemetery under direction of the Clay-Beasley Funeral home.
