Ed L. Smith, 102, died Saturday, August 1, 1989.

Services were held at 5 p.m. Monday, August 7, in Wheeler Church of Christ. Bill Morrison, minister, and Rev. Rodney Weatherly officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born in Seymour, TX. He married Ethelyne Richerson in 1915 at Estelline. She died in 1977. In 1966, he moved to Wheeler from Amarillo. He was a butcher and a member of Wheeler Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Harry L. Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Anne Massick Wilson of Claude; a sister, Connie Lambert of Wheeler; three grandchildren, Rick Massick of Pampa, Nikki Mitchell of Midland, Michigan, and David Massick of Claude; and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dr. Larry Barbour, Larry Finsterwald, W.A. Goad, Mike Goad, Jerry Hefley, Donald Rives.

Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Daughtry, Bus Dorman, Terrell Gunter, Arnold Jones, R.D. Underwood.

WHEELER - Mrs. Florence Ethelyne Smith, 83, died Wednesday in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Wheeler Church of Christ with E. R. Carver of Amarillo and Art Smith, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith married Ed Smith in 1915 in Estelline. She moved to Wheeler in 1966 from Amarillo and was a member of Wheeler Church of Christ.

Survivors include her widower; a son, Harry L. of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Anne Massick of Amarillo; a brother, Cecil Richerson of Wheeler; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
