*Obituary Joseph P.
Joseph P. Smith, 73, a retired farmer, died at his home 511 East 11th Street at 3:45 o'clock this morning. He is survived by his widow and three sons and six daughters, E.I. and J.L. Smith of Amarillo, Rev. A.E. Smith, Wheeler, Texas, Mrs. F.A. Gaggers, Mrs. Lester Black, Mrs. F.F. Monroe, Mrs. C.R. Weatherley [sic], Mrs. Paul Shumate and Miss Lydia Smith of Amarillo and Mrs. Guy Killen, Okemah, Oklahoma.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Baptist church and of the Woodmen of the World. The body will be in state until 8 o'clock Friday morning in the Griggs Funeral Chapel and will be taken overland to Wheeler, Texas, where services will be held in the First Baptist Church at 2 o'clock in the afternoon conducted by the pastor Rev. G.W. Simmons.

Pall bearers will be G.W. Mason, B.W. Hill, J.T. Anglin, J.L. Shumate, C.A. Whiten and W.M. Sanders. Burial will be in the Wheeler cemetery under the auspices of the Woodmen of the World order.
