Death Claims C.H. Starkey
Funeral services for Clinton Hardy Starkey, 61-year-old Long-time resident of Wheeler, were held in the First Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Starkey died at his home here at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. He was a retired farmer.
Rev. Robert Webb of Eldorado, Okla., was in charge of the last rites.
Pallbearers were: Levi Reed, W.F. McNeill, George Gandy, Murry Sanders, Edd Killingsworth and George Hefley.
Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Kirk Funeral Home, assisted by Clay Funeral Home of Shamrock.
Mr. Starkey was born June 10, 1894, in Limestone County, and was married to Miss Minnie Robison at her home in the Corn Valley Community on April 6, 1919.
He came to Wheeler County in 1915, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wheeler.
Surviving are: the widow, Mrs. Minnie Starkey, Wheeler; two children, Mrs. Vondell Killingsworth, Wheeler; and Harold Starkey, of Norman, Okla.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Starkey, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Brian Starkey, Tucson, Ariz.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
