Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Borger with Pastor James Baker, Primitive Baptist Church, and Don Watson officiating.

Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Topper was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Wheeler County, and was a resident of Borger. He attended school at Myrtle, Okla., for four years, then to Allison where Myrtle and Allison consolidated.

He worked on A. Finsterwald Ranch from 1941-1944. He then went into the U.S. Army in 1944 and was a World War II veteran. He went to Fort Riley, Kan., for basic training, then to Burma and was there for two years as a sergeant in transportation. After that he went to work as a general foreman for SPS until 1986 when he retired.

He was a member of Borger Primitive Baptist Church for 32 years. He was a deacon for many years and served as church treasurer for 25 years.

He married Estelle Aderholt on July 20, 1946, in Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Kathy Snelson on June 19, 2003; his parents, George and Nancy Topper; three brothers and one sister Katie Finsterwald.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jimmy Topper of Borger and Phil Topper of Amarillo; two sisters, Mary Ann Maxwell of Wheeler and Wanda Mitchell of Pampa; seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Casket bearers will be Matt Artzborge, Spike Snelson, Jake Topper, Trevor Topper, Don Allen, Larry Anderson, Mike Lister, and Tom Cassida.

Honorary casket bearers will be SPS workers, Lindsey Patterson, Earnest Hardy, Willie Griffin, and Rodney Neeley.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Texas, PO Box 26460, Austin 78755-0460.

Estelle Marie (Aderholt) Topper

Estelle Topper, 94. Our beloved Mother passed away on December 10, 2020. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Church with Elder Norman Jones and Elder James Baker of the Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, TX.

She was born April 3, 1926 in Wilson, OK to Lawrence and Virginia (Wood) Aderholt as the seventh child out of ten. They moved to Texas when she was three and lived on a farm where she helped milk cows, plant and harvest, pick cotton and work on windmills with her Dad. She graduated from Briscoe High School where she enjoyed playing basketball for four years.

She met the love of her life, Herman, they dated until he went into the Army. They were married July 20, 1946, two years later, one month after his return. They lived in Wheeler until 1952 where Herman worked for SPS. They moved to Pampa and then in 1966 to Borger, where she lived the rest of her life. She and Herman joined the Primitive Baptist Church in Borger in 1975 where they were very active, they especially enjoyed hosting visiting Ministers and their wives at their home during meetings.

Estelle and Herman enjoyed traveling in their camper. They visited twenty-five states and visited Branson, MO twelve times in their pickup and camper. They had three couples that were lifelong friends that they traveled thousands of miles and made priceless memories. They also traveled to dozens of church meetings from Tucson, AZ to St. Louis, MO and Virginia Beach and many places in between.

Estelle enjoyed shopping wherever she was and was the keeper of the addresses and phone numbers of family and friends. If you couldn't find them Estelle could usually find them for you.

She was a tireless prayer warrior for her family, friends and country.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Kathy Snelson, and five sisters; Doris Hays, Avis Allen, Lois Johnson, Lavois Anderson and Jonell Grayson and her brother Gerald Aderholt.

Estelle is survived by her two sons, Phil Topper of Amarillo and Jimmy Topper and his wife Susan of Borger, her five grandchildren Matthew Artzberger, Dena Lister, Charles Snelson, Jake Topper and Trevor Topper and four great-grandchildren, her brother Ray Aderholt of Pampa, her two sisters Armenda Jones of Amarillo and Reta Grayson of Wheeler.
