*Obituary George W.
G.W. Vinson, who had been seriously ill for the past several months, passed away at his home here in Wheeler Monday at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 14 days.

Funeral services for Mr. Vinson were conducted from the First Baptist Church here Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. M.B. Smith, officiating.

Mr. Vinson had been a resident of this vicinity for the past 20 years coming here in 1931. He and Mrs. Vinson had been married 49 years.

Survivors include; The wife, Mrs. G.W. Vinson of Wheeler; two sons, E.H. of Canadian and J.A. of El Reno, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Mike Fryar of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Mrs. Vernon Sivage of Mobeetie; four brothers, A.L. Vinson of Plainview, Gilbert Vinson of Holly, O.B. Vinson of Nugent and S.R. of Barry; two sisters, Mrs. A.M. Weatherly of Frisco and Mrs. Pool of California; nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Pall bearers were: Perryman Martin, Cliff Sivage, A.D. Speck, Robert Speck, Hiram Grimes and George Pond.

Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery with Kirk-Mason Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Evie Dee Vinson, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 23 in Wheeler following an illness of five weeks. Services were held Wednesday, December 24.

Evie Dee Nichols was born August 27, 1882 in Montague County, Texas. Her parents were Miles H. Nichols and Mary Ann Trout Nichols. On January 12, 1902, she was married to G.W. Vinson in Erath County, Texas.

Mrs. Vinson moved to Wheeler County in 1929 and resided here until her death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wheeler.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vinson were held in the First Baptist Church of Wheeler at 3:30 P.M. Rev. C.M. Abercrombie and Rev. Keith McCormick officiated at the services.

The grandsons served as pall bearers.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. L.V. Sivage of Mobeetie; Mrs. Mike Fryan [sic] of Roswell, N.M.; one son, E.H. Vinson of Lubbock; one sister, Mrs. Jinnie Byrd of Stephenville, Texas; ten grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Vinson was preceded in death by on [sic] son, John Archie in 1962 and her husband in 1951.

Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.
