Funeral services for Charlie Calvin Warren were held from the Church of Christ here Monday afternoon, March 12 at 3 o'clock. Rev. E.J. Norman of Childress, pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Minister E.M. Borden of the local Church of Christ.
Mr. Warren was born November 29, 1873 in Georgia. He came to Wheeler County in 1920 from Vernon. Moving to Seymour about eight years ago he has been in ill health the past two years.
Named as honorary pallbearers were: Charlie Sandifer, Scott Helton, J.C. Moore and Ben Wofford.
Pallbearers were: John Sims, L.S. Aderholt, Jack Hays, Matt Jaco, Tink Ingram and Audrey Downs.
Interment was in Wheeler Cemetery with Richardson Funeral Home of Shamrock in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Warren joined the Primitive Baptist Church in 1901 in Comanche County, Texas.
Survivors include; the widow, Mrs. Susie Franklin Warren of Seymour who was ill in a hospital at Seymour and could not attend the funeral here; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Conner of Lubbock; and two sons, George and Will both of Wheeler.
Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
