Services Held For Walter L. Williams, Jr.

Walter L. Williams, Jr., 54, died Saturday, March 25, 1989, in Friona.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church. Rev. M.B. Smith, retired Baptist minister of Pampa, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams was born in Merkel. He attended Pampa schools and had lived in Pampa and Wheeler all of his life. He was employed by Friona Transports. He married Edith Mann in 1981 at Lefors. He was a member of the National Guard for 11 years and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Harold Mann of Garland, three daughters, Melinda Earl of Lubbock, and Cindy Smart and Karen Gillock, both of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Linda Mann of Pampa; his mother, Mrs. W.L. Williams, Sr. of Wheeler; two brothers, James Williams of Wheeler and Huey Williams of Lovington, N.M.; and a grandson.

Pallbearers were Maxey Herd, Vendall Treadwell, Jerry Bob Watts, C.L. Winborne, Chet Winborne, Johnny Velasquez.

Honorary pallbearers were Bo Childress, Charles Davidson, Melvin May, N.D. Ware.
