PFC Enos Wharton was killed in the crash of B-24D
Liberator #42-40383, seven miles outside
of a Fort Worth airfield, near Aledo, Texas. His cause of death was a skull fracture due the plane crash. Four other airmen were killed along with him during a training exercise while enlisted/in the line of duty.
Son of Cora Arminda Hicks Wharton Cherry and Frank Harris Wharton. He was born in Glencoe, Oklahoma.
Mr. Wharton died at the age of 21 in Aledo, Texas.
