Services Held Sat. For Kelly Don Abernethy

Kelly Don Abernethy, 41, of San Jose Calif., died Tuesday, April 14, 1992.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18 in First Baptist Church in Kelton. Burial was in the Kelton Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Abernethy, born in Shamrock, lived in the Kelton Community. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1968 and the Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 until 1974. He moved to California and received a master's degree in administration. He served as an officer of the California State Nurses Association and was vice president of patient services of the O'Conner Hospital in San Jose. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kelton.

Survivors include his mother, Edna Pearl Abernethy of Kelton; and two brothers, Keith Abernethy of Evanston, Wyo., and Dr. Kenneth Abernethy of Borger; neices [sic] and nephews, Karla Abernethy Beatty, Canyon; Kyle Abernethy, Canyon; Mandy Abernethy, Wendy Abernethy, Kendal Abernethy all of Borger.

Pallbearers were Kendal Abernethy, Kyle Abernethy, Johnny Baird, Gail Ledbetter, Ron Rives, Bobby Ware.
