CANADIAN — Carroll Eugene Blevins, 72, of Canadian died Tuesday, July 24, 2012.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kelton Cemetery in Kelton with Caleb Sampson, minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.

Carroll was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Wheeler to the late Mr. Cecil Blevins and Mrs. Vera Nichols Blevins. He attended Wheeler High School. Carroll moved from Wheeler to Canadian in 1971. He married Clara Ruiz on May 8, 1971, in Canadian. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2008. He later married Linda Sue Bonner on April 5, 2010. Carroll worked highway construction for the state of Texas for 28 years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Blevins; two brothers, Charlie and Cecil Blevins; and two sisters, Valoise Jones and Zula Blevins.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Blevins; a son, Ronald Gene Blevins of Canadian; two stepsons, Jerry Arnold and Wendell Helms, both of Odessa; a daughter, Carroll Yvone Wells of Amarillo; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy and James Blevins, both of Kansas; and two sisters, Wanda Bingham of Houston and Linda Harkins of Pampa.

The family suggests memorials be to St. Jude's
Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38148; or Texas Oncology, 1000 S. Coulter Drive, Suite 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.

CANADIAN - Clara Blevins, 74, died Monday, April 28, 2008.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Juan C. Barragan officiating. Burial will be in Kelton Cemetery in Kelton by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.

Mrs. Blevins was born May 5, 1933, in Colonias, N.M., to the late Candido Ruiz and Sophia Bowles Ruiz. She attended schools in Colonias. She married Carroll Blevins on May 8, 1971, in Canadian.

She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Candido Blevins, on May 13, 2005.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll Blevins; a son, Ronald Blevins Sr. of Canadian; a daughter, Carol Lane of Amarillo; two brothers, Lucianae Ruiz of Denver and Fidel Ruiz of Pecos, N.M.; two sisters, Louise Palomino of Santa Fe, N.M., and Maria Lucero of Belen, N.M.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

CANADIAN - Joseph Candido Blevins, 30, died Friday, May 13, 2005.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. John C. Barragan officiating. Burial will be in Kelton Cemetery in Kelton.

Mr. Blevins was born Sept. 20, 1974, in Canadian. He was a truck driver and worked for the City of Canadian.

Survivors include his parents, Carroll and Clara Blevins of Canadian; a brother, Ron Blevins of Canadian; and a sister, Carol Lane of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 804 Kingman Ave., Canadian, TX 79014.
