WHEELER - Odra "Ode" Christopher, 97, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Kelton Cemetery in Kelton with the Rev. Erron Mercer, pastor of Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Christopher was born Nov. 10, 1908, in Holt County, Mo., to Sam and Cora Barker, the oldest of four children. She came to Texas in June 1929. She married Roy Christopher on Aug. 8, 1930, and lived in Skellytown until 1945. She was a member of Skellytown Community Church. They moved to Wheeler County and lived and worked a farm east of Wheeler from 1945 until 1948, when they bought the 9 Mile Store, east of Wheeler, near Kelton. She was a member of Kelton Methodist Church until it closed in 1991. She then became of member of First United Methodist Church in Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1984; a brother; and a sister.

Survivors include a sister, Leota Fern Propst of Austin; a nephew, Sid Jasper Jr. of Amarillo; and four nieces, Linda Leigh Jasper of Oklahoma City, Angie Marchak of Austin and Cora Stockwell and Alice Stockwell, both of Hot Springs Village, Ark.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
