ALLISON - Lawrence "Shorty" Crawford, 87, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Stiles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kelton Cemetery in Kelton by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Mr. Crawford was born April 20, 1914, in Lipscomb County, to George and Inda Collins Crawford. He married Helen Joslyn in Canadian on Oct. 23, 1948.

He moved to Allison from Glazier in 1953 where he was a farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Allison and a volunteer at Wheeler Care Center.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, George Crawford of Allison and Johnny Crawford of Briscoe; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Allison or a favorite charity.

WHEELER — Helen Joslyn Crawford Steen, 83, of Wheeler, Texas, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Wheeler with the Rev. Johnny Crawford officiating and with Matthew Crawford and Gary May assisting. Burial will be in Kelton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Peppers Family Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Mrs. Steen was born December 11, 1932, in Miama, Oklahoma, to Frank and Frankie Joslyn. She was a farm wife and cook for Allison School, Parkview Hospital, and Wheeler Care Center.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley Merdith Steen, Sr., of Wheeler; two sons, George Crawford of McLean and Johnny Crawford of Mobeetie; three stepdaughters, Joline (Steen) Jones of Lafayette, LA, Cathy (Steen) Dunn of Amarillo and Carolyn (Steen) May of Longview; a stepson, Wesley M. "J" Steen, Jr., of Canadian; three brothers, William Earl Joslyn of Lefores, David Allen Joslyn of Fayetteville, AZ, and Jim Franklin Joslyn of Mathis; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 211 Franklin St., Wheeler, TX, 79096.
