Mrs. Jaggard, 57, of Canyon went to be with the Lord on Aug. 26, 2004, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Jaggard was born June 25, 1947 in Wheeler to Harley "Teed" and Helen Ruth Pond. She graduated from Kelton High School and attended West Texas State University. She married Harry A. Jaggard on Aug. 7, 1967 in Kelton. The couple lived in Guam and in California before making their home in Canyon in 1975.

Mrs. Jaggard worked in the registrar's office and as a secretary at WTSU, then as a secretary for the First United Methodist Church of Canyon. She was employed with the Texas Department of Health in Canyon at the time of her retirement in 2000. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canyon.

Diagnosed with cancer in 1999, Mrs. Jaggard inspired all who knew her with her faith, her courage, her strength, her hope and her constant love. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a loving daughter and sister and a faithful servant. Her love of life and pure spirit touched all who had the privilege to know her. She will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved and cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Keith Pond.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Terri Brock and husband, Dale, of Crystal Beach and Angie Jaggard of Canyon; a son, Brad Jaggard and wife, Davina of Seattle; three sisters, her twin, Glenda Abernethy, and Sharon Tillman, both of Canyon, and Brenda Knoll, and husband, Danny, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Riley and Alexandria Brock; her father- and mother-in-law, Henry and Dolores Hauptman of California; a sister-in-law, Theresa Dannenbring of California; and several special nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and Sunday at the funeral home chapel.
