Graveside services for Christine Agee will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at Lamesa Cemetery, with Roy Byrd officiating, under the direction of Branon Funeral Home of Lamesa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.

Waurine Christine Agee (3/11/1913 - 9/16/2009) of Garland, Texas, was born in Abilene on March 11, 1913. She was reared in Lubbock by her Aunt Audie Robertson. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1931. Her parents were William Culpepper and Alma Ann Smith. She married John T. Agee on July 12, 1936 in Lubbock and they moved to Lamesa in 1937. They were married 55 years, until his death in 1991. They had four children and lived together in Lubbock, Lamesa, Abilene and at Possum Kingdom Lake. Christine was a rural mail carrier in Dawson County for 33 years. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; Aunt Audie; a sister, Loucile Appleton; and five brothers, Darius, Odus, W.C., Thomas and Glen Smith. She was also predeceased by two daughters, Louise Agee and Alma Ann Janes; and sons-in-law, George Janes and Dick Edwards.

She is survived by a daughter, Lucille Edwards; and a son and daughter-in-law, John Everett and Cynthia Agee. She is also survived by two sisters, Sheridan Smith and Velma King; nine grandchildren, Rick Agee and wife Kim of Dallas, Kerry Agee and wife Janie of Rockwall, Alese Agee of Carrollton, Rob Goodloe and wife Bobbie of Artesia, N.M., Jim Goodloe and wife Midori of Kanaga, Japan, Lee Goodloe and wife Taylene of Roswell, N.M., Christi Bellini and husband Bobby of Palm Harbor, Fla., Matt Janes and wife Robin of Colorado Spring, Colo. and Pepper Gallegos and husband Laures of Las Cruces, N.M.; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
