Tulia, Texas — Cootie Beaty, 88, died Friday, September 21, 2012 in Canyon.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in the Kress United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Lindley, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Cootie was born August 19, 1924 in May, Oklahoma. She moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma at the age of three. She grew up there and graduated in Shattuck in 1942. She moved to Amarillo in 1945. She married Don Beaty on December 10, 1949. In November 1962 they moved to Kress and farmed. Cootie was active in church, PTA and other clubs. She went to work for the City of Kress from 1985-1995.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Don and a daughter: Dedra Beaty Wilson.
Her family includes her daughter: Jade Beaty of Longmont, Colorado, two granddaughters: Crimson Holland and husband Matt Jimenez of Hutto, Texas and Jessica Beaty and husband Chris Jackson of Canyon, Texas, one grandson: Ross Wilson of Canyon and her great grandchildren: Maya Jimenez, Elan Jimenez, C.J. Jackson, Teyah Jackson, Sanaa Jackson, Makinzi Beaty and Tristan Beaty.
