COLORADO CITY — After a strong and courageous battle with cancer, Mr. Narciso Contreras Jr was summoned by the Lord to rest with Him in heaven for eternity on Monday, August 3, 2009.
Mr. Contreras was born on November 25, 1945 in Colorado City to Narciso and Jesusita Contreras Sr. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the patients of Mitchell County Hospital District for over 30 years. Mr. Contreras was well known to play a couple of rounds of golf with his brother and other friends. His smile and laughter were contagious as he shared them with friends and family. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home, family visitation was held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Colorado City. Burial will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery.
Mr. Contreras is survived by his wife of 38 years, Maria Contreras; mother, Jesusita Aguilar and step-father, Tomas Aguilar, both of Colorado City; brothers, Sammy Contreras, Ernest Aguilar, and Ruben Aguilar all of Colorado City and Jesse Aguilar Sr. of Sweetwater, sisters, Gloria De La Cruz of San Angelo and Diana Garza of Colorado City; 20 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces/nephews, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Narciso Contreras Sr. of Crystal City; paternal grandparents, Miguel and Rafaela Contreras of Crystal City, maternal grandparents, Alejandro and Consuelo Rocha of Colorado City; brother, Robert Aguilar of Loraine;
and sister, Graciela Aguilar of Colorado City.
Serving as pallbearers are his nephews, Sammy Contreras Jr., Jesse Aguilar Jr., Marcos Contreras, Robert Garza Jr., Anthony Aguilar, and Adrian Carrasco. Honorary pallbearer is Michael Contreras.
