*Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Antonio Armendariz, age 80 of Lamesa at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father John Steven Rathinam officiating and assisted by Deacon Daniel Valenzuela. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing will be held on Saturday and Sunday January 6th and 7th, 2018 with Rosary prayer services at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Antonio passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 in Lamesa. He was born on June 10, 1937 in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico. Antonio married Maria Castillo on June 10, 1960 in Lamesa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Armendariz; his sons, Antonio Armendariz, Jr., Valente Armendariz; his parents, Eulogio and Benita Soltero;
Antonio is survived by his son, Mario Armendariz and wife, Lucy of Lamesa; his sister, Felipa Armendariz of Juarez, Mexico; his half-brother, Jaime Armendariz of Juarez, Mexico; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
