Graveside services for Rebecca Ann Bankston, 55, of Lamesa will be held on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Jerry Walton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock. Ann passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011, in Lamesa.
She was born on June 23, 1956, in Lamesa to Chester Frank and Mattie Sue (Hambrick) Hinkle. She married Charles Ray Bankston Sr. on Dec. 15, 1982, in Denver City. Rebecca was a giving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful cook, especially her fried potatoes.
Ann is survived by her husband, Charles Ray Bankston Sr. of Lamesa; children, Kenneth Brown and Jessikah of Duncan, Okla., Steve Brown and wife Tara of Duncan, Okla., Gary Brown and wife Christina of Duncan, Okla., Sherry Pollard and husband Adam of Fort Sill, Okla., Loretta Lynn Bankston of Lamesa, Pamela Bankston and Shane Laird of Big Spring, and Charles Bankston Jr. and wife Nichole of Lubbock; sisters, Linda Owen of Lamesa, and Janet Richter and husband Nicky of Crowell; brothers, Charlie Hinkle and wife Vicky of Lamesa, Jackie Hinkle of Lamesa, Troy Hinkle and wife Janie of Whitewright, and Jimmy Hinkle and wife Carrie of New Boston; and 25 grandchildren and two on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Frank and Mattie Sue Hinkle; brother, Travis Glenn Hinkle; and a sister, Lillie Jane Hinkle
