Graveside services for Wilson "Bill" Banta, 92, of Lamesa will be held Friday, November 1st, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Wayne Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 31st, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa, Texas.

Wilson passed away Friday, October 25th, 2019 in Mesa, Arizona. Where he has lived for five years with his son and daughter-in-law. He was born December 18, 1926 to W T and Ruby Lee (Brown Burris) Banta. He married Irene Elizabeth Ford July 26th, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. They were married for 64 wonderful years.

Wilson is survived by son, Thomas Banta and wife, Ann of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Zacharia Banta of Great Falls, Montana, Carman Hess, husband, Chad, great granddaughter Isabella, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Rachael Willmer, husband Kyle of Brooklyn, New York. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Banta; wife, Irene Banta; and sister, Lula Wilson.

Funeral Services for Irene Elizabeth Ford Banta, 87, of Lamesa will be held on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Chapel in Lamesa with Chris Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday December 20, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.

She passed away on Sunday December 18, 2011 in Lamesa.

Irene was born on November 28, 1924 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Arther George and Sallie (Shadden) Ford. She married Wilson "Bill" Banta on July 26, 1947 in Dallas. They were married for 64 years. Irene was a member at First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a wonderful Christian help mate and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She volunteered with the Pink Ladies. 
She is survived by her husband, Wilson "Bill" Banta; son Thomas Banta and wife, Ann of Kemmerer, Wyoming; grandchildren, Zachariah Banta of Gillette, Wyoming, Carmen Hess and husband, Chad of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Rachael Banta of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sisters, Maxine Wallace of Kansas City, Kansas, Catherine Hood of Wichita, Kansas, Dorothy Becker of Marietta, Georgia, and Irma Behney and husband Rich of Abilene; and sister-in-law, Lula Wilson of Lamesa. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Billy Banta; and brother, George Ford.
