Funeral services for Wymia Jean Barnes "Mimi", 86, of Lubbock, formerly of O'Donnell will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lamesa. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.

Wymia passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 in Lubbock. She was born February 11, 1930 in Lamesa to W.L. "Mutt" and Florence (Herman) Gilliam. She married Billie Ray Barnes February 3, 1948 in Lamesa. He preceded her in death December 5, 2003. They were married for 55 years. She was a treasure, loved by everyone that knew her. She was a talented artist, musician, cook, and the best Mimi in the world. We will miss her laugh, her quick wit, and her unwavering love and support.

Wymia is survived by her brother, Ervin "Mutt" Gilliam and wife, Anna of Lubbock; grandchildren, Bryan Ray Barnes, Danisha Barnes Selman and husband, Stanley, and Ashlie Leigh Brownlow all of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Keelie, Whitney, Justin, Brayden, Kaitlyn, Bryson, and Rayleigh; 2 great-great grandchildren on the way; and her beloved nieces and nephew. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and her son Ronny Lee Barnes. The family suggests memorials to a charity of your choice.
