LAMESA -- J.D. Bennett Jr., 77, died Sunday, March 11, in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today, March 13, at Northside Baptist Church in Lamesa with the Rev. Jerry Purkaple, interim pastor, officiating and Rev. Clifton Igo assisting. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park.
He was born Jan. 11, 1924 in Wood County and married Eva Inez Aldridge Sept. 26, 1942 in Seagraves. He was a farmer in Dawson and Lynn counties and did custom farming. He was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Bennett of Lamesa; daughter, Sharon Inez Parmer of Lamesa; sister, Alice Babb of Dallas; two grandsons; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Foundation.
