Funeral services for Betty L. Hill, age 85 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the old Junior High School Auditorium on SW Avenue B in Seminole. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Brooks, assisted by Pastors Dewayne Hill, Matt Edwards, and Chris Jones. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Betty was born August 7, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas to Willie (McCray) and Robert Johnson. She graduated from Dunbar High School in Lubbock and went on to attend Medical Arts Hospital School of Nursing in Lamesa, Texas and New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico. Upon her graduation from LVN school in 1973, Betty began her nursing career at Seminole Memorial Hospital. In 1978 she returned to school and obtained her RN license in 1979. She retired from nursing in 2001 after 28 years of dedicated service to Seminole Memorial Hospital.

Betty Hill married the love of her life, Monroe Hill, on April 14, 1952 in Lubbock. They enjoyed 47 years together until his death in 1999. Along the way she not only maintained a nursing career, but helped to raise 17 children in a Christian home.

Betty Hill passed away January 26, 2022 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, Darla Anglin in 1998, and three brothers.
