James "Jim" Hogg Boone, Jr.

Graveside services for James "Jim" Hogg Boone Jr., 94, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Mark Hackett officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.

Jim passed away July 25, 2018 in Lamesa, Texas. He was born on May 14, 1924 to James H. Boone Sr. and Ione (Bizzell) Boone in Mineral Wells, TX. He served in the United States Army in World War II. He loved reading and football. He was a world-wide geologist where he traveled to South China Sea, Kuwait, Alaska, Cuba, and many other countries. The last several years he enjoyed going to McDonald's and visiting with friends.

Jim is survived by his sister, Joanne Nelson of Lamesa; brother, Dan Boone of Burleson; and nephews and nieces, Tony and Dottie Edmondson of San Antonio, TX, Terry and Eddie Langwell of Claude,TX, Jerry and Gerrel Owens of Pampa, TX, Sara Parkinson of Wichita Falls, TX, Kelly Boone of Dallas, TX, Todd Boone of San Antonio, TX, Dana and James Morris of Oklahoma City, OK, Russ and Penny Nelson of Lubbock, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jane Edmondson; and nephew, Danny Boone
