*Obituary
Ulysses "Sam" Bowens, 83, passed away on January 4, 2018. Sam was a craftsman, a soldier in the Army during the Vietnam War, and a charming man who loved his children and enjoyed talking politics.

He is survived by his children, Ulysses "Pap" Bowens, Jr., Faith Diane Skelton, Marcus Fowlkes, and Herschel Bowens; siblings, Nelwyn Reed and Leroy Bowens; and extended family. A celebration of life will be held at Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Lamesa, Texas, on January 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
