Carole Dyer Bratcher LAMESA-Carole Bratcher, 77, of Lamesa departed this life on Oct. 2, 2012, after a brave battle with cancer. Carole was a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lamesa; she formerly was a longtime member of the Lamesa Presbyterian Church. She was dedicated in life to Christ through her churches.

Born to the late David and Mildred Wade, Carole was a lifelong resident of Lamesa. Her great artistic and creative ability were displayed in her painting, sewing, and her ongoing endeavor to master the harp. She married Dr. Eldon Royce Dyer, DDS, on Aug. 16, 1954, in Lamesa. He preceded her in death in 1972. She later married Vernon Hap Bratcher on April 14, 2001. For many years, Carole worked as a real estate agent, secretary, and partner to her husband, Hap Bratcher. In the 1970s, she was an active member of the '48 Delphians Club and enjoyed planning and participating in many of their events. She was active in supporting the upcoming young students in the harp program at Texas Tech University.

Carole is survived by her beloved husband, Vernon Hap Bratcher. Her greatest legacy in life was in the love, caring, and teaching of her four children, Vic, Steve, Bret, and Kecia. Present in her memory are her brother, Jim Wade and wife Wanda; daughters-in-law, Lori, Jacque, and Audra; son-in-law, Owen; grandchildren, Eric, Sean, Austen, Carly, Chris, Mike, Alyssa and Abbie; great-grandchild, Madelynn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
