Memorial services for Lyndell Wade Brooks, 69, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Bruce Parsons officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Private Interment will be held in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Lyndell passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in Lamesa.

He was born December 13, 1948 in Andrews to Roy and Dortha Lou (Nichols) Brooks. He married Sharron Graham November 26, 1969. They were married 48 years. He was a farmer, but his passion was ranching, cattle, and horses. He was well known particularly for his grey horses. He was very fond of animals and was considered a horse and cow whisperer. Lyndell adored all children, especially his grandchildren. The children in his life knew him as Pap. He loved Hank the Cowdog, jug fishing, and family gatherings, especially chasing kids to all of their events.

He is survived by his wife, Sharron Brooks of Lamesa; children, Shannon Brooks and Patti, Pam Kearney and Quinton all of Lamesa, and Dan Brooks of Spring; grandchildren, Sarah and Colton Kearney; and sister, Bonita Rowlett and Joe of Seminole. Lyndell is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Royce Brooks. The family suggests memorials to a charity of your choice
