Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lillie Calloway, age 69 of Lamesa are set for 2:00p.m., Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Williams officiating with programs provided to the family by Stephanie Brown. Viewing will be from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. on Sunday at Gonzales Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The Lord called Lillie home in the early dawn hours of Thursday, April 18, 2013 while at Medical Arts Hospital in Lamesa. She was born on January 5, 1944 in Elgin, Texas. Lillie married Clarance Calloway, Jr. on October 21, 1995 in Lamesa. Lillie worked for the Davis family for many years and also for the Youngblood Elder-care Facility.
Preceded her in death was her mother, Lula Mae Darty; both grandparents, Leslie Lee and Georgie Killings; one sister, Rosie Mae Williams.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Clarance Calloway, Jr. of Lamesa; five daughters, Lula Williams of Lamesa, Elline Owinyo, Maxine Williams, Georgia Williams and Tammy Chikavanga, all of Grand Prarie, Texas; two sons, Jerome Williams of El Paso, Texas and Nellis Williams, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
