Karen Norwood SLATON - Funeral services for Karen Norwood, 73, of Lubbock and formerly of Slaton, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Englunds Chapel and burial in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Karen was born October 26, 1938 in Slaton. She passed from this life September 28 2012. She grew up in Slaton, graduating from Slaton High School in 1957 and attended Lamar University in Port Arthur, Texas. She had lived in Portland, Texas, Harlingen, Port Neches, Wylie and Ruidoso before returning to Slaton in 1986 and later moving to Lubbock. Karen attended Oakwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Pauline Deaver. Her survivors are her sons, Randy Norwood of Lubbock and Steven and wife, Shelly, Norwood of Round Rock, Texas and grandchildren, Zachery, Haley and Nick Norwood.
