Eileen Behunin, Retired Deaf Smith County Justice of the Peace, a longtime Hereford resident, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo.
Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Church of the Nazarene, Hereford. Pastor Ted Taylor will officiate. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. 6th Street.
Eileen was born in Brownfield, Texas on July 19, to Lonnie and Minnie Warren Johnston. She moved to Hereford in 1979 from Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Eileen served Deaf Smith County as Justice of the Peace from August 1980 to December 31, 2006 when she retired. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Hereford. She loved her Lord, daughters, grandchildren, family and a host of friends with all her heart. She will be dearly missed by all.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Kathy Behunin.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Nicolynn Cook and husband Robby of Cleburne, Texas, Jana Caldwell of Atlanta, GA., 2 brothers L.B. Johnston and wife Maxine of Simmsport, LA., David Johnston and wife Melba of Olathe, CO., 2 sisters, Gay Madden and husband Steve of Washington, OK., Colleen Adkins of Rosewell, NM., 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Family suggest memorials to the College Grant for Children of Single Parents Fund, In Memory of Eileen Behunin, Hereford State Bank, 212 E. 3rd Street, Hereford, Texas.
Eileen will not be available for viewing.
