Funeral services for Jerry Brownd, 40, were held Wednesday, November 17, at 2:30 p.m. in the Friona United Methodist Church with Rev. Archie Echols, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the Friona Cemetery under the direction of Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home.
Born February 20, 1942, in Lubbock, Brownd married Erma Drake February 4, 1962 in Friona. He had been a resident of Friona for the past 20 years moving here from Levelland. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of Friona United Methodist Church.
Brownd was past master of Friona Masonic Lodge, was a former city councilman, former president of the Friona Chamber of Commerce, former member of the board of Friona Farmers Co-op Gin, and former member of Friona Country Club board. He was a member of the administrative board of Friona United Methodist Church. Brownd died Monday, November 15, 1982.
Survivors include his wife, Erma of the home; two daughters, Jana and Sherri, both of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.V. Brownd of Friona; and one sister, Mrs. Wanda Cobb of Hereford.
Pallbearers were Gary Brown, Howard Fleming, George Frye, Wesley Barnett, Jerry Loflin, Mike Chaney, Dale Cary and Jon Mack Roden.
The family requests that memorials be in the form of donation to the Friona United Methodist Church.
