Funeral services for Felis Cervantes, age 80 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at The Lighthouse Community Center in Lamesa with Pastor Joe Martinez officiating. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemtery. Funeral arrangments are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.

Visitation will be on Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home with an Inspirational Service st for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Cervantes passed away on Wendesday, December 9, 2015 at Covanent Medical Center hospital in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on May 18, 1935 in Anson, Texas. Felis married Nicholas (Nick) Cervantes on June 16, 1955 in Lamesa, Texas.

Mrs. Cervantes was a strong dedicated member of their church, New Life in Christ in Lamesa, where her husband Nick Cervantes is the pastor. Her greatest interest involved doing what the Lord Jesus called her to do. Felis was a mighty intercessor, a woman of big faith and her desire was that everyone she met would have a wonderful relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ, who she served with a sincere passion.

Felis was preceded in death by her father and mother, Florencio and Maariana Galvan; her brothers, Jesus Galvan, Carlos Galvan, Gilberto Galvan, Adam Galvan, Miguel Galvan; her sisters, Audelia Garcia, Luisa Savallos, Maria Ruiz, Lidia Ochoa.

Felis is survived by her most loving family, her husband, Nick Cervantes of Lamesa, Texas; her two sons, Oscar Cervantes of Odessa, Texas and Johnny Cervantes of Lamesa, Texas; her brothers, Elijio Galvan of Plainview, Texas and Raul Jimenez of Amarillo, Texas; her sisters, Hortencia Rodriguez of Amarillo, Texas, Helacia Chapa of Plainview, Texas, Juanita Gonzales of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Eva Galvan of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numeours family relatives and friends.
